Finding a local warm air technician:

As most owners of warm air heaters already know, it can be difficult to find a technician qualified to work on a warm air system. There are two ways that I can think of. 

1) Search the Gas Safe Register website: 

Although it isn’t obvious, you start right on the front page. Search for any local gas technician by entering your town or postcode You will be given a list of a hundred or so, then you can filter the results by qualification. Scroll down the results page just a little to see another search box (which now already contains your town or postcode), and there is now a button or link to “Choose Appliance”. Click on this. Now scroll down the list to the very end where you will see “Domestic Warm Air Heating” as an option to select. Click on this to filter and find local people qualified to work on warm air heaters in particular.

2) Contact Johnson and Starley:

Johnson and Starley are the leading manufacturer of gas warm air products and although it doesn’t say so on their website, they keep a list of Gas Safe Registered firms qualified to work on warm air. Their number is 01604 762881. You won’t get mired in a multi-choice automated menus, just choose option 1 and you’ll be put through to a real person who will look through the list and find you a local firm or two to call.
